Marvelous End of the Year Reminiscing.
Thank God.
I did not enjoy this year that much.
So I've made a pact with myself,
I will make 2009 a year that I'll always want to look back on.
This year I got one of my most amazing friends back and lost her again all within about a 7 or 8 month period (we're still friends, she just relocated to the evil Florida). Technology-wise, this year I went through 4 phones and managed not to kill my laptop, which is a huge feat for me. I also managed to come out of my shell a little bit and realized that this whole year I had spent my time trying to turn myself into this person that I thought I should be, when really I should just be the person I am.
In 2009, I'm only making 2 resolutions,
- Seek God, truly seek Him.
- Keep strong in myself and my image. It doesn't matter what I'm expected to dress like or how I'm expected to act. I'm just going to be me.
So in honor of the year passing, I'm stealing an idea from Candice.

Far From Marvelous News. :(

Pushing Daisies: ABC ”Cancels” Beloved Fantasy TV Show
Pushing DaisiesTo little surprise, ABC has decided to pass on ordering additional episodes of Pushing Daisies. After a critically-acclaimed and ratings-challenged run, will faithful viewers get some closure?
Pushing Daisies follows the story of an unusual pie-maker (Lee Pace) who can bring people back from the dead. With the help of his previously-deceased girlfriend (Anna Friel) and his detective partner (Chi McBride), the trio solve mysteries by briefly reanimating corpses and asking them questions. Other characters are played by Kristin Chenoweth, Swoosie Kurtz, Ellen Greene, and Jim Dale (the show’s unseen narrator).
Daisies debuted in October 2007 and, though the ratings weren’t good by the end of the first season, ABC renewed the show for a second year. The network execs hoped the show would catch on with a larger audience in season two. It didn’t and has only averaged six million viewers each week. Last night’s episode marked a series low in the ratings.
As a result, ABC has opted not to order any additional episodes. The network has avoided saying that it’s actually cancelled the show. The series could possibly return at a later date but, considering Daisies’ ratings track record, that is highly unlikely. More likely, the network is trying to avoid backlash from devoted and disappointed fans.
The network hasn’t announced plans to pull Daisies from the schedule thus far so hopefully ABC will finish airing season two. Though the series finale will give some closure, it’s been reported that it will leave devoted viewers screaming for more. Chenoweth recently said, “[There's] not really resolution, which bums me out, but what you’re left with is hope.”
The reason for leaving viewers without a conclusion is somewhat of a mystery since producers were told in advance that this would likely be the final installment. For whatever reason, season creator Bryan Fuller decided to go the way he did. Filming an alternate ending was considered too expensive a proposition considering the show’s extremely tight budget.
If the network does pull Daisies before all of the episodes have aired, they’ll certainly be released on DVD at some point. Fuller has also said that he has plans to continue the tale of Ned the piemaker and friends in comic book form, likely with DC Comics. Fuller says he’s already in talks with the publisher and has a movie idea ready to pitch as well.
Though there won’t be any new episodes, it doesn’t look like these characters will be going six feet under any time soon.
I guess this goes to show that good wholesome TV enjoyment goes unappreciated these days.
I hate that this show got canceled and crap like Private Practice and Life On Mars get to stay.
Being that I'm such a huge Kristin Chenoweth fan,
this is deeply saddening.
I enjoyed getting to see her as Olive every week.
This boils my buttons.
I'm to the point where I don't want to watch tv anymore
because every time I get into a show,
it gets canceled.
I'm still bummed about The N canceling About A Girl.

Marvelous Cupcaketry!
I move that we make it one.
Anybody second the motion?
I've been making Halloween cupcakes
for the youth group.
We're setting up for realSPOOK tomorrow night.
I'M SO EXCITED!!
I'm also a little distraught as well,
Considering that I don't have all the elements required for my costume.
If I can't find them,
I'm going to have to chose between
Mrs. Lovett
or
Alice Cullen
I'm torn.
and vacillating between the two like crazy.
I must go now and finish icing the cupcakes
as well as get this garlic pizza cooked in time for when Momsie gets home.

Marvelous TBD.
(If you don't know what that is, it's Too Busy Disorder, and you really need to watch Ellen DeGeneres "Here and Now")
yes so I've incured this insane case of TBD from registering for spring semester.
It'll be my first semester in college
I'm a little nervous
Crazy excited
and hoping for the best.
I go tomorrow to do some placement testing for english and math.
I'm pretty good at both, not a genius by any means, but I do well in both subjects.
Anyhoo, I'm sitting on my couch
with the race on mute
watching vlogbrothers videos on youtube.
I went to see an 80s style version of Romeo and Juliet at NGU Friday night with Savannah and Shannon,
It was good, but we couldn't understand what the actors were saying.
Luckily it's shakespeare and we knew it very well.
I'm really angry about the tv schedule this year.
I pretty much only watch the primetime shows.
House, Pushing Daisies, Grey's Anatomy, The Office, Ghost Hunters.
Grey's Anatomy and The Office are two of my favorites,
and of course they come on at the same time.
I can't wait Pushing Daises this season because it's the same time as Youth Group at church.
So I end up having to catch these online later.
It's just kind of annoying.
Now that I don't have to worry about the SAT and all that other bogus testing anymore,
I've been able to get back to my love of reading.
I've just started
Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk.
It's getting me really geared up for Halloween.
If you haven't read any of his books, you MUST.
He is an uh-MAZE-ing author.I'm a big fan.
I also went out yesterday and bought his novel Rant
as well as Wicked by Gregory Maguire.
Of course, I got the version with the pictures from the musical.
So, I'm going to stop rambling now
and leave you with an important tidbit of information.
25 DAYS UNTIL TWILIGHT!
XOXO

Marvelous "Sorry I Haven't Updated" Post.
Seriously.
So I went to see the doctor yesterday
and found out that I have an impacted eardrum.
I always have ear problems :/
Gets kind of annoying after a while.
What truly sucks though is that it rained in the area yesterday and the day before.
The rain stretched up to Charlotte as well.
Qualifying was rained out.
Whenever that happens,
the race lineup is determined by owner points.
Since the number 25 hasn't been used this season,
it has no owner points.
Brad Keselowski doesn't get to make his debut this weekend.
Thanks a lot, Mother Nature.
I was looking forward to actually being there for his debut.
:(
Kasey Kahne is starting 15th which is exciting,
because if they conduct pre-race activities as they did last year
and line the cars up on the front stretch right in front of the fans,
then he will be very close to the start/finish line.
We're sitting at the start finish line.
:D
Yesterday was the Zac Brown Band show at The Handlebar
which I had to miss
because of my ear :(
My mom felt really bad about it
and took the refunded ticket money
and bought me seasons 1 & 2 of House!
She also got me some Michael Scott magnets from The Office
and a little Dwight Schrute notebook.
I discovered a new coffeehouse in town called Fix Coffee.
It was delectable.
They have flamingos in the hanging planters outside.
I quite enjoyed it.
Right now I am watching the news with Momsie and about to go eat some Crunch Berries.
Tonight is the Lee Brice and Billy Currington concert at Fall For Greenville!
Tomorrow is the Bank of America 500 at Lowes Motor Speedway.
toodles!
XOXO

Marvelous Transylvanian Adventures
Bram Stoker's Dracula.
I'm only 30 pages in as of this moment and absolutely enthralled with it.
The Grimsley family has always naturally been obsessed with vampires
I carry this obsession as well.
It's actually quite amazing that I haven't read this book yet.
I don't really know why I haven't either.
Nonetheless, I've finally gotten around to it and wish I had started it earlier.
Here's another fascinating tidbit for you as well.
My grandfather's side of the family hails from Transylvania, NC. pretty cool huh?
So this grim obsession that I have with the dead, or undead more specifically, stems from a long family history of the same obsession.
XOXO
